Serving New Zealand for over the past decade

In the middle of the pandemic, FIL Engineers proudly turned 10 years old. With a slice of normality prevailing, we are keen to celebrate this monumental milestone for our business!

Established in November 2010, we started FIL Engineers with the intention to fill the engineering resourced gap, with New Zealand being our prime market. When we first started, a lot of our focus was unsurprisingly on helping to rebuild Christchurch after the earthquakes.

Over the next few years, we experienced a lot of growth with a strong need for quality engineers in the Christchurch landscape. From 2014 through to 2016 the number of staff reached 25, and as an engineering company, we became multi-discipline consulting.

In 2017, our focus moved away from earthquake-related work as the rebuild entered a new phase. We transitioned to providing a structural engineering service only. During this time, we also streamlined our staff to become more manageable.

As professionals and a growing business, we are always looking to the future and how we can adapt to new challenges and provide services that people want. We have ambitions to add to our established offices in the main centres, such as in Wellington, Queenstown and other busy areas to have a nationwide reach.

We have also recently been working on developing our drafting and detailing office in the Phillippines, which was established this year. This will serve as the core group for drafting resources. The purpose of this is to help our clients who are large Construction and Engineering companies that need help in with their skill shortages.
